Holy Grip Strength

Taught all night tonight so I worked out early in the morning:

Buy in/800m Farmers Carry, 70lbs (Holy shit)
then 5 Rounds:
8 Deadlifts (115)
6 Burpees (scaled to plank burpees - basically you just don't bring your chest to the floor)
20 Double Unders
Cash Out/800m Farmers Carry, 70lbs (Holy shit x2)

This was brutal on my grip and forearms. The 5 rounds felt like nothing compared to those farmers carries! Overall felt great during the wod though.

Food: craved a salad with garbanzo beans and italian dressing from whole foods and an egg salad.

Thrusters, Dips

Long day at the gym. Fitting in a WOD with the 4pm class before I coach again at 6 & 7pm!

Warm up: 3x10 Bent Over Barbell Row (55lbs)

WOD:
21-15-9
Dips (on bench)
Thrusters (55lbs)

I lost my dips :( Last week we did them and I tried to get on the rings but it just wasn't happening. It's like I'm wearing a 10lb vest! Anyway, I still tried today and took forEVER on my 21 dips. The 15 & 9 I did on the bench. I finished in 8:58... Then we rested 5 min and did max reps push ups. I got 35.


and of course no workout is complete without my Progenex :)


Food:
Buffalo Chili and avocado for lunch. mmmm

Oh btw, I cheated on Saturday and had chocolate french toast for breakfast (with eggs benedict!!) Wasn't even that good but french toast is my jam and it's hard for me to resist when it's there!

Lazy/Tired day. Trained people in the morning, had a meeting, then edited CrossFit Soul's Anniversary video most of the day. It's AWESOME! Watch it Click HERE!

Tomorrow is the Heraean Games - go check it out at the Hard Rock Casino. All women's competition. I will be there promoting my women's event in February!

Hopefully I will get to train on Sunday!

Food: Smoothie again for breakfast, Kanisu (cucumber wrapped crab, carrot and avocado) for lunch. So good!! Been really wanting to eat out or make my own food instead of my meal delivery. No bueno... I should be saving money, right?!

"Power Elizabeth"

So... today we had a WOD programmed for our members that I love, Elizabeth. Anything with heavier cleans (like over 100lbs) I really like to do, but I haven't been doing more than 75 since I found out I'm pregnant. Number 1, everything feels heavier and makes me out of breath faster, and second I just feel like I'm still lifting heavier than most women do... I have nothing to prove right now, I just want to stay in shape.

Regardless I couldn't help but go up AT LEAST 10 lbs more for this WOD! So I did:
21-15-9
Power Cleans (85lbs)
Push ups (this was our scale for the class) Ring Dips just aren't happening right now.

took me 8:00. Damn touch and go cleans get you out of breath fast!

I've also been working with a private client in the morning on her pull ups and when I have her do her 2 pull ups every minute on the minute, I do 5. Two days ago I did 10 EMOM while she did 2... Part motivation for her and part being I am determined to get a picture of me with a full belly doing pull ups!!

Food Craving: Smoothie for breakfast - Strawberry, Almond Milk, Protein, Cocoa Powder.

Baby Blog - Day 1

So... I've had this blog for a really long time and I decided to start over and start using it as my workout/baby blog. Since I use my other wordpress blog for CrossFit related stuff, I figured this would be good to use as my personal one. Plus, it will keep me accountable while I go through these 9 or 10 months trying to maintain my workout routine. I also plan to be totally honest about my weird cravings and struggles to eat clean on here. If I slip, you all will hear about it!

Ok so today I am 11 weeks 3 days pregnant:


Here was my workout:

15 Min AMRAP (as many rounds as possible)
9 Deadlifts (115lbs)
11 Kettlebell Swings (35lbs)
13 Double Unders

Finished 7 rounds plus 1 deadlift. Took a lot of breathers between rounds... people around me have to remind me when I'm in the middle of it to breathe, slow down, and just do the work.

In case anyone was wondering, I have met with two different Dr's now. The first I didn't like, but he was supportive of me doing CrossFit and said that as long as it's something I've been doing (which it is for years now), there's no reason why I should stop. I am now seeing a midwife who said the same thing and added "don't increase weight and don't workout to the point of breathlessness. Other than that, continue to do what you've been doing". Most docs nowdays promote exercise while pregnant, so you DON'T have to stop. As long as you feel good while doing it, go ahead! (Please ask your own doctor to see what they say, though).

Today's weird food cravings: Chai Latte and either French Toast or Waffles (really?!) I substituted and went to whole foods for an almond milk chai, and got some gluten free cinnamon cookies to snack on later. Still haven't touched them!
