I scaled down everything in this wod. The Cleans were supposed to be 105, the box jumps were supposed to be 20", and the run was supposed to be a sprint. Obviously at almost 7 months pregnant, none of that was happening! It's weird cause my mind says "you can do that" when my body says "no, scale down". Danny hates that I still do box jumps and barbell cleans but they honestly feel fine. The most important thing is that I listen to my body, if something feels weird or heavy, I just don't do it or scale it....

Weightlifting: 8x5 Every Minute @ 50%  (I used 53lbs cause I haven't really been squatting more than 110-115)

deadlift, row, squat

Today was a good workout. My mother in law actually helped my come up with an "alteration" of sumo deadlifts instead of conventional.... My belly is getting in the way!! Weight felt good, I've been doing what I feel is too much ab stuff, so I decided to do ring rows instead of toes to bar, which is what was programmed for the class. 

Weightlifting:
Back Squat  5x3  (75lbs)

Conditioning:
10m Ladder of
DeadLift (123lbs) 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, etc…
Ring Rows    2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, etc…

Score is total completed rounds = 7  (+8 DL  :D )

Food: Chicken Vaca Frita with Avocado. Yum!!

KB Swing, Pull up, Russian Twist

Workout felt good today. This is the first time I've ever done incline bench (not a fan of bench press, personally) but it felt good. I started the workout with knees to elbows, but the sexy callus' on my hands were getting super irritated and I didn't want to tear, so I switched to Russian Twists. Overall good, short workout. Plank holds were 1 Min each and they are getting hard!!

Weightlifting:

Snatch, Burpee

The workout felt good today... I did bent rows instead of snatch technique work, which the rest of the class did. The WOD was fun, the plank burpees are still as taxing as regular burpees, surprisingly! My row times were :44, :46, :46 and my pace was 1:51 each time which is great for me. Core stuff was hard as usual, cause you completely lose your core when pregnant! Overall, good workout  :)

Weightlifting: Bent Row 5x10  (55lbs)

1 Kettlebell Snatch Each Arm  (35lbs)
10 Burpees (scale plank burpees)

Posting This Late

This week was a hectic week. I wasn't sleeping well which was making my workouts shitty, which was making me tired/sore and unmotivated. I took a lot of rest days in between workout days. Still got my 4 days in, but not the way I usually do.The run was sloooow during this workout but short so that's why I did it. All my OHS were unbroken during the 5, 10, and 15... I only got to 3 or 4 on the 20 round.

Skill/Warm Up:

WOW

Today's was brutal!! I had a much needed rest day yesterday after all that squatting I did the two days before. I decided to take on the challenge of the 3 Metcons we programmed for our classes yesterday. I knew that I wasn't gonna run (it's uncomfortable for me now) so I rowed instead. The box jumps I scaled down to a 14" box instead of the 20" and actually did jumps instead of step ups (I'm so sick of step ups, I'd rather jump low), and the burpees I scaled to plank burpees (same as regular burpees but don't bring chest to the floor). The last portion took me a LONG time, but I finished it!!

Metcon - complete the following - Get as far as you can in 3 Min, Rest 2 Min, Get as far as you can in 5 Min, Rest 2 Min, then do the whole thing for time:

Today was fun! I actually haven't done a 1000m row in a really long time so it was good to "have" to do that today. I kept a slow pace so I could breath normally (about 2:20) and was done with it in under 5 min, which is what I wanted. The thrusters were the hardest for me cause they made my heart race, so I had to take it real slow. I did 10 at a time and rested about 30 sec in between. Pull ups felt good, also did 10 at a time with some rest in between.

Nasty Girls



Did pregnant "Nasty Girls" today haha. I had the option of using dumbbells for the hang cleans or a barbell, which if the barbell is light enough is no big deal to bring around my belly. Thing is, I know that's not the way I should be doing cleans (reverse barbell curl, gross) so I was kinda torn. I hate dumbbell cleans though, ugh... Also, I subbed muscle ups for pull ups. So my Nasty Girls wod went like this:

10 Hang power cleans, 95 pounds (scale with 55lbs)

Saturday Yoga

Took the yoga class today. It was actually really good cause she used a lot of hip openers, loosened up the back and hamstrings, and did a some core stuff too. It wasn't too much for me (which sometimes it can be now) in terms of twisting, poses I can't do, etc.


I still wanna try some prenatal yoga at the place I've been doing my baby classes. The doula there says that the difference is in the postures they have you do that can be used to help progress labor, move the baby into the right position, etc. Regular yoga class just doesn't do that so it's worth a shot!

Push up, Hip Ext, Dip

Worked out with the hubster today. Started with some weightlifting and then did a short little AMRAP after. Feeling tired again today. Yesterday I was nonstop so today I feel like I'm just dragging. The workout was very slow and unmotivating. I guess days like this are gonna come and I just gotta roll with it!

Weightlifting: 5x3 Push Press (85lbs)

Quick Workout

Story of my life! I had to squeeze in something fast today because I forgot I switched schedules with one of our coaches. I had a personal session that gave me 30 min in between my class to warm up and workout FAST!

Metcon - 3 Rounds:
3 Power Cleans (I used 35lb Dumbbells)
12 Kettlebell Swings (35lbs)
13 Box Jumps (I did step ups)

took me 8:07. This wod was supposed to be with 120lbs on the cleans and 53lb kettlebell, with a 2 rep max lifting session before the workout... I would have LOVED to do that cause the cleans would have challenged me!! The dumbbells felt whatever, I'm not really a fan of dumbbell cleans.

Food: Went to Sakaya Kitchen and got some ginger brussel sprouts, orange ribs and coconut rice. YUM!!

OH Squat, Snatch, Push up, Burpee

Feeling good today, just tired. Seems like the bigger I get, the more I want to take naps. I was only out for 2 hours today running errands before I felt like I needed a break! Anyway, I coach really late tonight so I decided to workout during an early class so I can rest before having to be active again.

The class started with a snatch complex warm up. Since I cant barbell snatch anymore, I did overhead squats:

Weightlifting - Overhead Squat 8x3 (75lbs)

Metcon - 3 Rounds:
5 Hang Power Snatch (I scaled with DB snatch, 5 on each arm, 25lbs)
8 Handstand Pushups (I scaled with 16 push ups from box)
11 Burpees (scaled with plank burpees)

My time - 7:07

Accessory:
Ab Wheel 3x10 (scaled with max plank holds)
Strict Toes to Bar 3x10 (scaled with knee raises)

All the scale downs felt good. It's funny how movements like push ups on a box can feel so hard now haha. I'm glad that even though I am scaling a lot of stuff, it still feels just as difficult and is making me just as sore. I'm confident that I am doing all I am capable of right now without it being too much.

Food: Could go for some chicken thighs and mashed sweet potato. mmm where can I get that?!

2 Metcons

So much for just lifting... I couldn't figure out exactly what I wanted to do so I went online and found this on the CrossFit Endurance site. I scaled the movements and weight to work for me:

5 Rounds:
3 Deadlifts (125lbs)
5 Strict Dumbbell Press (30lbs)

9 Weighted Lunges (30lbs)

8:something was my time. I decided that was too short since I did a short one yesterday so I added an endurance workout afterwards:

Total Calories: 90 Total Double Unders: 164

My double unders SUCKED! I had these crappy sneakers that I had to wear without socks, and they have a higher heel/more cushion than I ever wear. The rope kept getting caught on them but also, my arms were toast from the row, presses, and ring rows. Overall glad I did this today. Now for my recovery shake!

Snatch, Box Jump, Push up, Wall Ball

I was gonna work out with my husband today and push the prowler, but he sold me out! Instead, two of our coaches were gonna do a short little workout so I jumped in. It was our Oly coach Rachel's first time doing a CrossFit workout so we made it short:

8 Min AMRAP:
10 KB Snatches (26lbs)
10 Box Jumps (I did step ups)
10 Push ups
10 Wall Balls (14lbs)

I did 3rds + 30 reps. Probably should have done more after but my shoulder has been hurting me due to constantly sleeping on my left side at night. It sucks! I went to get adjusted, got grastoned, and hopefully I will be feeling better tomorrow. Maybe I'll still lift tomorrow instead of taking the day off and just avoid doing any overhead.

Back Squats, Kettlebell, Twists

Went to my first baby class last night with Danny. We are doing hypnobirthing, which is a method of natural childbirth that teaches you about nutrition, the birth process and stages, relaxing your mind and body during labor, focuses on breathing techniques, and uses natural pain relief like massage, water, heat, and aroma therapy, etc. I am 21 weeks and decided the more I prepare mentally and physically, the better off I will be when the time comes. I really enjoyed it and look forward to the next month of classes!

Today was a kinda easy day at the gym...

This workout was supposed to be with toes to bar and a 53lb kettlebell, but my hands were feeling a little sensitive and I do toes to bar a lot lately since I can't do situps anymore. I decided to do russian twists instead which felt fine. I also haven't used the 53lb kettlebell since I was like 2 months pregnant so I scaled that too.

Stayed consistent and got 3+ rounds for each AMRAP. My score was 287.

Food: nothing special. ground buffalo, beef, and sundried tomato eggs for breakfast. Chicken and carrot salad for lunch. Going to sushi for dinner (you CAN eat sushi!)

Fight Gone Bad

I was feeling lazy today after going to get adjusted but decided to come in anyway to do the workout. Glad I did, now I can go home and relax! Since this normally gets anyone pretty gassed, I decided to strategize and get 75 reps per round so I could rest more in between. I wanted to do 20 wall balls, 20 sumos, 15 step ups, 20 push press, and rest on the row. I got to all the numbers and actually found that I had more energy during the push press to get 25 reps in, so I did. I ended up doing 80 reps for the first 2 rounds and 76 on the last.

Deadlift, Pull up, Step up

Took the weekend off due to the MIA Classic weightlifting meet. I also started feeling sick, like allergy stuffiness, on Saturday and it turned into sneezing all day on Sunday. Today I feel fine though...

Good news that my rib pain is totally gone since starting to take enzymes. HELL YES. I was so miserable and clueless as to what it was. I feel so much better knowing that it's not workout related, something untreatable, or worse. So today I worked out with the class:

Metcon - 5 Rounds:
6 Deadlifts (125)
6 Pull ups
6 Box Step ups (did these instead of broad jumps)
